Mulino Lodge sits on a working farm in the Derbyshire hills, and each of our glamping units is tucked into the natural slope of the land. That setting is a big part of the charm — but it also means steps, gravel paths and the odd incline, and unfortunately none of our accommodation is suitable for wheelchair users.
What we can do is give you the detail, unit by unit, so you can judge what will and won’t work for you and whoever you are travelling with. If you have restricted mobility, a visual impairment, or any other requirement, the Guide below sets out what to expect.
Getting here and parking
Parking is level throughout and on a gravel surface. From the parking, the routes to each accommodation unit differ quite a lot — some are close and gentle, others involve steps and a slope. Here are some further details:-
Ewe Lodge
Ewe Lodge is the most manageable of our units for anyone with limited mobility, as the main living space is step-free once you are inside.
- Level, accessible gravel parking
- Up to two steps to enter the property
- Inside, the main accommodation is all on one level with no internal steps, and doors are standard width
- Level access from the living space out to the balcony with multiple steps to the garden area.
- There are steps down to the Exercise & Relaxation Room
- The bathroom has a bath with an overhead shower
- An external socket is available for charging a mobility scooter

Bluebell Pod
Bluebell is a short, reasonably level walk from the parking, with only a few steps and a small step at the door.
- Level, accessible gravel parking
- The pod is around 40m from the parking area and 30m from the facilities building, with a few steps along the way.
- Steps up to the facilities building, the Bluebell path (gravel) and the decking — three steps at each level, with handrails
- A small step to enter the pod
Damson Pod
Damson is best suited to guests who are comfortable with steps and a slope.
- Level, accessible gravel parking
- Around 35m from the parking area and 20m from the facilities building
- This pod has the most steps and the sharpest incline, including multiple steps down from the facilities building to the pod

Lavender Pod
Lavender has the fewest steps, though a steep gravel path leads down to the Pod from the parking.
- Level, accessible gravel parking
- Around 35m from the parking area and 40m from the facilities building
- A steep gravel path with a handrail leads down from the parking to the pod, and there is a single step to enter
- From the parking, three steps with a handrail lead up to the facilities building
- Of the pods, this one has the fewest steps at the entrance itself
Visual impairment
The site is a hillside farm, so there are gravel paths, steps and changes in level between the parking, the cabin, glamping units and the facilities building, with handrails fitted to the stepped routes. Of our units, Ewe Lodge is the most suitable, with the fewest steps and a main living space that is all on one level.
