About Our Farm

The journey so far

We are not your traditional pasture farm! Started by Craig at the age of 23 and driven by a passion to create a sustainable farm business which looks after the land and environment, harnessing renewable energy instead of fossil fuels.

The farm has been established over the past 17 years and everything you see on the farm has been built over that period. In 2015, we welcomed our first guests onto the farm.

Our Animals

Home to ‘Madge Hill’ Pedigree Belted Galloways (belties), ‘Upper Delves’ Shire Horses and a commercial sheep flock, our animals are rotationally and strip grazed around the pastures.

Not forgetting of course our truly free-range hens who roam where they want. Our beltie beef is slow grown on a pasture diet whilst here on the farm and is retailed at a fabulous award winning local farm shop Stanedge Grange Butchery.

Farming with nature

Here on the farm, we have developed a business which is working with natural systems, building soil health, biodiversity and ecology. Starting our farming journey with soils which had been stripped of nutrients and bleached with chemicals, our system has focused on building back soil health and grazing livestock are an integral to achieve these outcomes.

Take time to watch nature

We love to see nature on the farm with various birds of prey (red kites, barn, tawny little owls, buzzards and kestrels) making their home here. As our soil health improves and we can continue to build biodiversity across the farm in our hedgerows, pastures and meadows, our small pasture farm is working hard to heal the land.

Generating green electricity

We work hard to harness our natural resources through renewable electricity generation from our small wind turbine and solar energy for heat and electricity. This allows our small business to significantly reduce our reliance on fossil fuels and offer eco-conscious guests a perfect location to stay.
