The Basics

Distance: 2.25 miles (3.6 km) each way

Approximate duration: 45 minutes each way

Terrain: Mainly across fields, tracks and footpaths

Before You Start

Wear appropriate footwear for field walking, particularly after rain. The route includes some muddy sections and farm tracks.

  4. The track widens out. When it narrows again, take the bridleway on your left shortly after.
  5. Follow the boundary fence to a sheep handling area.
  6. Once past the sheep handling area, bear right and follow the boundary fence through three fields.
  7. Cross a small brook which leads onto a track (where there is a building).
  8. Follow the track down into the village until you meet the main road near the school.
  9. Turn left and the Red Lion can be found on the right-hand side in the bottom of the village.

Return Journey

Simply retrace your steps back to Mulino Lodge. Allow approximately 45 mins- 1 hour as the route is uphill.
