Keeping everything crossed…. a Shire foal due in June on the farm

Upper Delves Lady Lily Shire Horse

Upper Delves Lady Lily to be a first time mum …

Upper Delves Lady Lily, the 2nd foal born here at Mulino, is now almost five and is due her own very first foal this June!

She is currently living out with her retired mum Upper Delves Sunflower and her full sister Upper Delves Lady Rose (Rosie). Rosie is Craig’s ridden mare and competed for the first time in the Ridden Heavy Horse class at Ashbourne Show last Summer.

Keeping everything crossed as the pregnancy progresses….

We know first hand how difficult breeding these magnificent heavy horses can be so we are keeping everything crossed that we have a healthy shire foal born this summer.

A long wait….

Lily visited Metheringham Upton Shires last Summer to be covered by the stunning grey stallion Sparkland Ben. With an approximate gestation period of 11 months and a week, growing these enormous heavy horse foals is a slow process and we want to play our part is saving this magnificent rare breed.

Watch this space….

We’ll be sharing updates here and on our socials as June approaches. Fingers and toes all firmly crossed.
